Chronic Pain Ireland – Website Donation Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions apply to all donations made through the Chronic Pain Ireland (CPI) website. By making a donation, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
Chronic Pain Ireland is a registered Irish charity (CRA No: 20028022) committed to improving the lives of people living with chronic pain through support, education, and advocacy.
2. Nature of Donations
All donations made to Chronic Pain Ireland are voluntary and are treated as unconditional gifts, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
● Donations do not entitle the donor to goods, services, or benefits in return
● Donations are made to support the charitable work and objectives of Chronic Pain Ireland
● The majority of donations are treated as unrestricted funds, allowing CPI to apply them where the need is greatest
3. Use of Donations
Donations are used to support the mission and work of Chronic Pain Ireland, including but not limited to:
● Support services for people living with chronic pain
● Educational programmes, webinars, and workshops
● Advocacy and awareness campaigns
● Operational and administrative costs necessary to deliver services
Where a donation is restricted (e.g. given for a specific purpose), CPI will use it accordingly. If the intended purpose becomes unfeasible, CPI will seek donor consent to reallocate the funds appropriately.
4. Payment Processing and Security
● All online donations are processed securely via third-party payment providers
● Chronic Pain Ireland does not store full credit or debit card details
● Payment processing providers may apply their own terms and privacy policies
● CPI takes reasonable steps to ensure the security of all transactions but cannot be held responsible for failures outside its control (e.g. internet or banking system interruptions)
5. Refund Policy
As a general rule:
● Donations are non-refundable
● Refunds may be considered only in cases of:
- Duplicate transactions
- Clear administrative or processing error
● Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to Chronic Pain Ireland as soon as possible after the donation is made
6. Recurring Donations (if applicable)
Where a donor selects a recurring donation:
● The donor authorises Chronic Pain Ireland (via its payment provider) to collect payments on an ongoing basis
● Recurring donations may be cancelled at any time by the donor via their payment provider or by contacting CPI
● Cancellation will take effect from the next scheduled payment cycle where possible
7. Tax and Gift Support (Ireland)
● Donors are responsible for ensuring they meet any eligibility requirements for tax relief on charitable donations in Ireland
● Where applicable, CPI may issue documentation required for tax relief claims
● CPI does not provide tax advice and recommends donors consult a qualified advisor where necessary
8. Data Protection and Privacy (GDPR)
Chronic Pain Ireland is fully committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Irish data protection law.
● Personal data is used solely for processing donations, issuing receipts, and (where consent is given) communicating with supporters
● Data may be shared only with trusted service providers necessary to process donations
● CPI will not sell, rent, or trade your personal data
● You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data at any time, subject to legal obligations
