Chronic Pain Ireland Wins Good Governance Award 2024
Chronic Pain Ireland is delighted to announce that we have won the Good Governance Award 2024 for our Annual Report in Category 1 (organisations with an annual turnover under €100,000). This recognition celebrates our dedication to transparency, accountability, and excellence in governance practices.
The judges commended our annual report for being “substantive, accessible, and engaging,” highlighting how it clearly demonstrates our mission, impact, and activities throughout the year.
Quote from Executive Director, Christina Donnelly
“We are absolutely delighted to receive this award, which underscores our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of governance, even with the limited resources of a smaller charity. Good governance is not just about compliance, it is the foundation for effective operations, accountability, and public trust. This recognition affirms our dedication to transparency and accountability and demonstrates our trustworthiness.
We are deeply grateful to the judges, Carmichael, and the organisers for acknowledging our work and mission. We also want to express heartfelt thanks to our dedicated Board, staff and volunteers whose unwavering commitment and efforts have made this achievement possible”

About the Good Governance Awards
The Good Governance Awards celebrate non-profits that demonstrate excellence in governance through their annual reports. Strong governance is not just about compliance; it is the foundation for effective operations, accountability, and public trust.
Good governance matters because it ensures:
- Compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Operational effectiveness in achieving organisational goals.
- Trust and confidence among donors, stakeholders, and the wider public.
The awards highlight the importance of using annual reports as a tool to communicate transparency, impact, and adherence to governance principles. Chronic Pain Ireland is honoured to have been recognised as a leader in these practices.
