Your Pain Is Our Priority
Chronic Pain Ireland is a charity that supports, educates and advocates for people with chronic pain.
Chronic pain is a complex, multi-faceted disease that prevents people from enjoying a full life
A lack of understanding within the healthcare system and society only compounds the physical and emotional distress caused by persistent pain.
Many people live with pain for years before they get a proper diagnosis.

Mindfulness and Chronic Pain: How It Helps
Mindfulness can help us to manage the mental/emotional side of long-term illness by changing our relationship to our symptoms, reducing the amount of worry, anxiety or stress that goes with them. This can then actually lower the amount of primary pain we perceive.
We may not have control over what is happening to our bodies but by developing a sense of kindness and compassion towards ourselves, along with the ability to clearly see our experience, we can change our experience of pain learn to live well with it.
Self-Management
Chronic Pain can be managed in a number of different ways. While there is no immediate cure for chronic pain, implementing strategies / techniques through self- management can help reduce your pain, improve the quality of your life and puts you, not the pain, in control.
