Chronic Pain Ireland Shortlisted for the Carmichael Good Governance Awards!
We’re delighted to share the news that Chronic Pain Ireland has been shortlisted for the 2024 Carmichael Good Governance Awards. This recognition is a huge honour for our team, volunteers, and every member who supports our work.
The Good Governance Awards, developed by Carmichael with the support of their partners and leading national bodies within the non profit sector, are a celebration of the best in governance and accountability across Irish non-profits. Now in their eighth year, these awards recognise organisations that demonstrate strong integrity, transparency, and ethical standards in how they’re run. To be shortlisted is a testament to our commitment to delivering a responsible and trustworthy service for people living with chronic pain.
What the Good Governance Awards Represent
The Carmichael Good Governance Awards highlight the importance of good governance in Irish non-profits, seeking to;
- Acknowledge, encourage and promote good governance practice in the area of annual reports and others areas of good governance practice.
- Support and encourage the non profit sector to use their annual reports and financial statements to showcase their embracement of and adherence to good governance.
- Provide practical examples to other organisations as to what an excellent or very good director’s report and financial statements look like.
Adhering to good governance is more than just an annual report and underpinning policies; it is a framework that ensures organisations are managed in a way that’s accountable, transparent, and fully focused on their mission. Good governance means that every decision Chronic Pain Ireland makes, every euro we spend, and every step we take keeps the best interests of our members front and centre.
Why This Recognition Matters
Good governance is essential for building trust and ensuring that our work makes a lasting difference. For Chronic Pain Ireland, it’s a reminder of the responsibility we have to represent the chronic pain community with transparency, fairness, and respect. Being shortlisted is an honour and a reminder of our commitment to delivering a service that is guided by these values.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Carmichael and the panel of judges who shortlisted Chronic Pain Ireland and we give particular recognition to our members, whose support and trust inspire us every day. Wishing all shortlisted organisations the best of luck and looking forward to the announcement of winners on November 21st 2024.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us!
